Tracy graduated from the University of Illinois – Urbana/Champaign in 1991 with a B.S. in Economics. She then went on to earn her J.D. from Thurgood Marshall School of Law at Texas Southern University in 1997.

 She is a member of the Texas Bar Association and the National Creditors Bar Association.

 She is admitted to practice law in Texas and Georgia.
